Actor Gerard Butler probably isn't someone you've thought about in a long time, but he had some opinions to share about Ryan Reynolds, an actor you can't escape thinking about because he's everywhere. Right now he is in the blockbuster hit Free Guy, which is about a man who realizes he's the disposable character in a video game and starts to fight fate. It apparently bears a resemblance in storyline to a film Butler made in 2009 called Gamer. Free Guy has been a massive hit and Gamer flopped.
Butler was interviewed earlier this month in Unilad where he was asked about the two films. In response, Butler said he was filming in Puerto Rico and so he hasn't been keeping up with what's out. After being told it was a Reynolds' vehicle, Butler responded, "Oh sh-t is it...I don't watch Ryan Reynolds movies."

This is kind of a rude thing to say, of course, but it probably wouldn't have blown up if people weren't so thirsty for celebrity drama. Reynolds could have played into the whole thing and said he doesn't see Butler movies because he barely makes any, but that would just have made everything worse. Instead, he took the attention the comment was getting and turned it around.
He shared a screenshot of the story and one of his own Twitter promoting the fact that he and Blake Lively are matching donations of up to one million dollars for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund through October 8, in case anyone wants to make a donation.
"Can you believe Gerard Butler doesn’t know what Free Guy is?" he captioned it. "Also, can you believe that the challenges to democracy have never been greater and that Blake and I will match your contributions to the @aclu_nationwide and @naacp_ldf? *Order of these questions optimized for the Internet, NOT importance."
If you're not interested in making donations to the NAACP or the ACLU because it's a good thing to do, make a donation in honor of a celebrity keeping it classy for once.
