Who would win in a fight, the X-Men or the Avengers? It's a pretty common debate and this time it's Twitter users who are making the arguments for one side or another.
Let's ignore the fact that Marvel has told this story.
And that these entities are not real.
And that writers at a keyboard are the deciding factor in any "fight" between these two groups.

The X-Men and Avengers have come to blows in the comics, starting all the way back in 1965's The X-Men #9. They had the upper hand until Professor X popped in and was like, "Yo guys, don't you all have a supervillain to fight?"
In Avengers #53, the Avengers had the upper hand. The first official X-Men vs Avengers miniseries was published in 1987 and the fight revolved mostly around Magento taking responsibility for his crimes. He agreed to stand trial and was eventually acquitted.
Generally, however, people use the 2014 Avengers vs. X-Men during these arguments. The X-Men won round one, became the Phoenix Five, and changed the world. Eventually, however, they imploded and Cyclops killed Professor X. Technically the X-Men won more of the one-on-one fights but... it seemed kind of a wash.
So the online debate has moved to Magento and how he could possibly ruin Iron Man with just one move. The comics have said that Iron Man's suit would be non-magnetic for this particular purpose.

Now we're going to get into the more nuanced arguments of the fight. @AdrianXpression wrote, "X-men could clear but they gotta take out Wanda and Hulk as SOON as the fight start."
Others cited What If: "The Avengers literally got killed in What If like nothing," said @weirdalphabet.
