Disney recently shared a new The Book of Boba Fett trailer and it showed us how Boba Fett healed back in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.
The Mandalorian's duo, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, teamed up again and developed The Book of Boba Fett. Director Robert Rodriguez is set to direct the series, which is set alongside Ahsoka, another Star Wars spin-off. The story revolves around the bounty hunter Boba Fett as he had an assassin he hired, Fennec Stand, fill the power vacuum left by Jabba the Hutt's demise in Return of the Jedi.
Temuera Morrison returns as Fett after his character returns in the last episodes of season 2 of The Mandalorian. Rodriguez directed on The Mandalorian and will return to direct multiple episodes of the new series with Favreau, Bryce Dallas Howard, Filoni, Steph Green, and Kevin Tancharoen. Filming began in late 2020 and wrapped in June 2021. The show is set to premiere in December.
The new trailer comes just a month until the show lands. The video gives us a look at the bounty hunter's moves to become the next crime lord of the galaxy.
Since his return at the end of season 2 of The Mandalorian, fans have been waiting to learn how he survived the Sarlacc. We don't get a complete answer to the mystery but we do see a quick glimpse of how he may have healed. It looks like the native Tuskens of Tatooine rescued Fett and helped him back to health, but we don't get much in the way of details.
In the trailer, Fett appears to be in something similar to the bacta tank Luke Skywalker recuperated in after being attacked by a wampa in Empire Strikes Back.
We'll have to wait just a little bit longer to get more info on the Sarlacc survival and how the Tusken Raiders play into Fett's survival — but only until the series drops on December 29th on Disney+.
