Pokémon has been around since the mid-nineties, which means we have people hitting their quarter-life crisis who have never known a world without them. But what if Pokémon lived in the actual world? That was the very simple premise of a Twitter game started by user @nelychillin, who demanded, "Tweet like Pokémon were real."
They have over 2,000 replies and over 18 thousand quote tweets, so this was obviously a game a lot of people had been raised to play.
I don't actually get most of the references below, because I know almost nothing about Pokémon except that I gotta catch them all and Shocked Pikachu face, but I do get that if Pokémon were real, the world would be thrust into utter chaos.
