Please raise your hand if you even remotely remember the plot of the first Avatar movie.

I don't!

I don't because the first film came out in TWO THOUSAND AND NINE and it is now the year of our Lord 2022, which may be the longest gap between sequels we've known were coming since the first film? Maybe? Somebody check on that for me.

Happily, I can just, you know, rewatch the first film and catch up, which is exactly what I may do because the Way Of Water trailer looks sick.

The Na'vi are back in the new trailer with footage for the sequel film and it looks like they're fighting either with or against humans for the safety of their world.

The teaser shows more of Pandora than viewers saw in James Cameron's epic first film, which opened 13 years ago and became a big hit.

We see, at the end of the teaser, Jake (played by Sam Worthington) tell his partner, who is played by Zoe Saldana,  "this family is our fortress."

The plot of the new film is pretty unknown, but we do know that Worthington, Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver are reprising their roles. We'll also see Michelle Yeoh, Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, and Oona Chaplin in the film.

In 2009, Avatar was a huge phenomenon. It had incredibly groundbreaking visuals, was one of the first movies to use motion capture technology, and it had a big environmental message, which hopefully connects climate change to even more people. It was nominated for nine Oscars and won three. It was also the highest-grossing film of all time, a title it maintains today.

There are three more sequels planned after Way of Water, and I think this just might be the movie to get us all back into theaters after a rough 3 years of pandemic madness.
