I'm furious that I have to even share this news. Why on earth are people so awful?

Moses Ingram recently joined the Star Wars universe with her debut as Inquisitor Reva in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but she also shared that since the premiere of the Disney+ series, she has received hundreds of disgusting, hurtful messages.

Moses shared some of the abuse on her Instagram stories.

"There are hundreds of those," Moses said, showing some of the comments. "Hundreds. I also see those of you out there who put on a cape for me and that does mean the absolute world to me, because there's nothing anybody can do about this."

The messages she received included threats such as "You're days are numbered" and "you are not the first [n-word] in starwarss fool".

"There's nothing anybody can do to stop this hate. So, I even question what my purpose is even being here in front of you saying that this is happening," she continued.

"I don't really know. I think the thing that bothers me is this feeling that I've had inside of myself — which no one has told me — but this feeling that I just have to shut up and take it."

Moses also said she's not "built" to stay quiet about the hate she's receiving and thanked fans who supported her. She also noted that the folks bothering to enter her social media comments are "weird". Agreed, Moses.

When the Star Wars franchise heard about the bigotry and hatred directed toward her, they immediately came to her defense.

They also added, "There are more than 20 million sentient species in the Star Wars galaxy, don’t choose to be a racist."

Ewan McGregor also spoke out about the hatred Moses was facing.

Here's his full message:

"This weekend Star Wars fans made Obi-Wan Kenobi the most watched Disney+ original series premiere of all time — and for that I would say a big thank you, and it just goes to show what this family can do when we all pull together.

"However, it seems that some of the fanbase from this influential fanbase have decided to attack Moses Ingram online, and send her the most horrendous, racist DMs. And I heard some of them this morning and it just broke my heart.

Moses is a brilliant actor, she's a brilliant woman, and she's absolutely amazing in this series. She brings so much to the series, she brings so much to the franchise, and it just sickened me to my stomach to hear that this had been happening. I just wanted to say, as the leading actor in the series, as the executive producer on the series, that we stand with Moses.

We love Moses. And if you're sending her bullying messages, you're no Star Wars fan in my mind. There's no place for racism in this world. And I totally stand with Moses."

Agreed, Ewan. Agreed.
