quentin tarantino django meets zorro

Quentin Tarantino is famous for some of the incredible films he has helmed over the decades of his career, but he is also infamous for all the movies he started but never saw through to the end.

Some of these films include titles such as Killers Crow and Kill Bill: Vol. 3, and even his own iteration of Star Trek. The list of unmade projects Tarantino has come up with is so large at this point that they have their own established Wikipedia page.

Another film to add to the ever-growing list appears to be a “Django meets Zorro” film that Tarantino worked on with stand-up comedian and writer Jerrod Carmichael, though the writer never specified when this film’s script had been written.

Carmichael spoke about the idea of the film, which he claimed could have made an easy half a million dollars at the box office if it had been seen through, with GQ in a tell-all interview about his career.

A Band Apart/Sony Pictures

According to the GQ article, the Django meets Zorro project will never see the light of day, but Carmichael said, “Quentin's a lunatic who I love, and I'm happy that I got to spend the time. We saw exploitation flicks at the New Beverly, he read me scenes that never made it to his movies, that he had typed out, in his kitchen after making fresh-squeezed lemonade for me. It was really special.

The comedian went on, saying, “It's actually an incredible, incredible script that came in from that Django/Zorro that I would love for Sony to figure out, but I realize the impossibility of it. But I still think we wrote a $500 million film.”

Tarantino has helmed nine feature films at this point: Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill: Volume 1 & 2 (a single movie), Death Proof, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

But it appears that, according to Tarantino, his next feature film will be his last. Hopefully, he’ll make it a good one.
