Is the shower discourse here to stay? This past weekend, Ashton Kutcher appeared as a guest picker on ESPN's College GameDay — but the audience was more interested in shouting about his hygiene. Yelling "take a shower," they mocked the actor who recently joked about not really taking baths frequently.
Apparently, people are still shocked by the banal tidbit, and they chanted at Kutcher as he talked about his alma mater the University of Iowa, ahead of their Saturday game against Iowa State.
In July, Kutcher and his wife, actor Mila Kunis spoke about their personal hygiene as a family on Dax Shepard's podcast Armchair Expert.
"Now, here's the thing: If you can see dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there's no point," Kutcher joked.
"I didn't have hot water growing up as a child, so I didn't shower much anyway," Kunis added. "But when I had children, I also didn't wash them every day. I wasn't that parent that bathed my newborns — ever."
As for his own cleaning habits, Kutcher said he throws "some water on my face" after working out, but doesn't feel pressured to wash his whole body every day. "I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever," he said in jest. "I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time. Nothing else."
Instead of being like, whatever—you do you, folks got very offended—and apparently still are.
Last month, Kutcher and Kunis made a video poking fun at the situation.
"This is ridiculous! What's going on?" he exclaimed, as Kunis explained through laughs that she was bathing the kids. "That's like the fourth time this week.
"You're putting water on the children?! Are you trying to melt them?!"
