If you're visiting Chicago, you can now connect to a little bit of movie history from the 90's hit Home Alone, the very place where a young Macaulay Culkin stole our hearts after stealing his dad's aftershave. The house was opened by host "Buzz McCallister" on Airbnb for one night only, December 12th, with the promise that all money raised will be donated to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital.
But the situation is not entirely altruistic. The announcement is also intended to promote the new release of Home Sweet Home Alone on Disney+, starring Ellie Kemper, Kenan Thompson, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, and following the adventures of Max Mercer, yet another boy left behind as his family vacations over the holidays. The night will include a screening of the movie, holiday decor, and a LEGO Ideas Home Alone kit to take home.
That's a very good deal for only $25 a night.
"You may not remember me as particularly accommodating, but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home — my pizza, even — with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time," Buzz said in a statement from Airbnb.
There's also going to be a tarantula and a bunch of junk food involved which sounds like a very stimulating mix.
Apparently, there's a caveat that Airbnb will offer $1,000 travel credit if COVID ruins your holiday plans to bring your sweetheart on a romantic evening of cosplaying as a child fighting off a home invasion. Unfortunately, it looks like it might already be sold out.
Damn. When else will I get to experience this level of abandonment for only $25?
