Ready to revisit Hogwarts? The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore has dropped — and it promises to show us more secrets from the universe of Harry Potter.
In the trailer, Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) and friends team up with Dumbledore (played by Jude Law).
The crew is brought to Hogwarts, which is the school of wizardry that is best known to the Harry Potter series.
We also see that the characters will learn more about the relationship between Gellert Grindelwald and Dumbledore, as well as meet new creatures and engage in a magic-related heist.
David Yates is directing again after his turn as director on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) and The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018). Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves wrote the script, based on a screenplay by Rowling.
In other news, Rowling has embroiled herself in controversy again. The writer, who has espoused transphobic views on social media, recently reacted to a report by The Sunday Times alleging that Scottish police will "record rapes by offenders with male genitalia as being committed by a woman if the attacker 'identifies as a female.'"
Rowling linked the article to a Twitter post saying, "War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is A Woman."
Warner Bros. has scheduled Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore to debut in theaters on April 15, 2022.
