Amber Heard’s lawyers played multiple recordings of arguments the ex-couple allegedly had while together, including one where she seems to say he put out a cigarette on her.
Monday was the fourth and last day of Depp's testimony in the ongoing trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. In the above-mentioned audio file Heard can be heard saying, "Put your f--king cigarettes out on someone else. You f–king have consequences for your actions."
The brief clip is only audio and there is no visual evidence to go along with the file, although Depp in the clip doesn’t deny her claims, merely telling her to "shut up, fat*ss".
The clip ends with Heard saying, “Yeah, you got me there.”
Rottenborn, Heard’s attorney, attempted to have the audio clip played a second time, but was denied. When asked if he had put out a cigarette on Heard like the audio claims to be the case, Depp called it a “grossly exaggerated moment of Ms. Heard’s” and said that he “did not put a cigarette out on her or throw a cigarette at her.”
In another clip played by Heard’s lawyers, the actress accuses Depp directly of beating her up.
“After you beat the sh-t out of me then a week later you show up at my doorstep,” Heard says in the recording.
In yet another recording, Heard appears to be crying and begging Depp to stop (though she does not specify what), and says, “I'm gonna die! You're causing me so much stress. [...] I feel like I have a heart attack almost every day, please stop.”
Meanwhile, Depp in the clip calmly asks Heard, “Why are you with me?”
Rather than responding to his question, Heard continues to beg him to stop and wants a “normal argument [...] a normal conversation.” She continues to cry in the audio, telling Depp he’s killing her repeatedly.
Depp in the audio asks Heard to go home alone and take her medicine, and apologizes for upsetting her. When asked on the stand about the recording, Depp said he wasn’t sure exactly when it was, only that Heard didn't seem "in any shape to drive."
At one point in the recording, Depp can be heard saying, "This isn't love. This is not happiness."
