This weekend, actor Tom Cruise attended a baseball game in Los Angeles to watch the L.A. Dodgers face off against the San Francisco Giants with his son, Connor, who he had adopted shortly after birth with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. Cruise ended up on the Jumbotron, Us Weekly reports, and fans went wild. Then Twitter went wild because they couldn't believe they were looking at Tom Cruise.
Cruise is 59 years old at this point in history and eventually, everyone ends up aging. The time has finally come for the prominent Scientologist. Though he has managed to stave off aging through what I can only assume is some sort of dark magic Botox mix, the results are not permanent. He now looks quite a bit like the late Norm Macdonald.
It seems unlikely that Macdonald was getting lots of plastic surgery or fillers, but it does seem like that might be what's going on with Mr. Cruise.
He also kind of looks like Jeff Bezos right before he got launched into space and wanted to look his puffiest for the stars:
Some people are pretty annoyed by the criticism and seem to attribute the changes in his cheeks to weight fluctuations. Is that what's really going on here though?
I'd definitely be more inclined to agree that no one should be jumping on a celebrity's neck for not looking 25 their entire lives, but Cruise is very much complicit in the world of Scientology according to the documentary Going Clear, which edges that at least one woman has been assigned to cleaning toilets for years after failing to be his girlfriend. Some ribbing online about his new countenance is the least of what he deserves.
